I desire to connect my pc and my laptop thru wifi, both on windows10. I tried with file sharing, but neither of my computers appears on the network folder.

1) Check the configuration IP address and gateway are configured correctly example yous can get out your WIFI on Automatic and configure this in the alternating configuration under Internet Protocol Version 4 TCP/IPv4 properties that way you lot can have internet on one computer and shared networking to the other or do it via the cyberspace sharing options which is not much different to the below arrangement.

Host computer

192.168.0.1

255.255.255.0

192.168.0.2

Receiving computer or Client

192.168.0.two

255.255.255.0

192.168.0.1

close and restart your computers

then you need to set up your folders and files sharing permissions.

Follow this past configuring Networking and Sharing center.

you may need to turn off password characteristic and firewall to get the connexion showtime so play around with how y'all want the computers to talk to each other.

example do you lot desire to utilize log in and password feature or simple connection without login only recommend if your not using the net.

It worked, only merely on one side. I noticed though that the laptop has McAfee installed instead of windows defender. Even afterwards turning off MCAfee on the laptop, the workstation could not connect to it. Says that I don't have access and permissions.
